Meet the team who make it happen. We see huge potential in our business to become a global force for facilitating the transition to a zero carbon world. Our team is growing rapidly and we are looking to recruit new people during 2024 and beyond. Our leadership team are committed to building a group of diverse individuals with breadth and depth of experience.
Stephen has a strong track record in innovation, commercialisation and management across energy, property and retail. His previous roles in Commercial Director of Quiet Revolution and CCO of X-Wind Power (wind turbines) and MD of Fleet Renewables (EVs, tidal, solar, biomass).
Graham has over 25 years’ experience in senior financial roles with a focus on cleantech. Previous roles include CFO at C-Capture (carbon
capture) and previously at Yorkshire Hydropower, Eel power and Q-Bot (hydro, energy storage, energy
efficiency AI). Experience includes raising tens of millions of funding for cleantech.
Prof. Cochrane was Director of Education and Associate Professor at Exeter University. A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Energy Institute. Richard designed the Quiet Revolution qr5 helical VAWT. He also led the development of a high efficiency double regulated Kaplan turbine.
Richard Cochrane passed away on 25th May 2023. He dedicated his career to fighting climate change. The entire team at RheEnergise is committed to carrying on his vision.
Tamás is an engineer and serial entrepreneur with a PhD in experimental fluid mechanics from the University of Cambridge. 20+ years in the cleantech space turning ideas into solutions, creating teams that deliver, and building companies that provide solutions for customers. Previous roles include R&D Director at Quiet Revolution and CTO at NPI waste heat recovery for data centres.
Jim is the former MD of Actis’ Rezolv Energy Fund. Previously Partner at EnerCap Capital, private equity fund investing in renewable energy projects in the CEE region. Former CEO at Quiet Revolution and held senior positions at Biomass Engineering and Bowman Power. Experience of investing in power projects (up to £1.3 billion) and technologies. Fellow of the Energy Institute.
Lizzi spent three years working in the marketing and advertising industry, after graduating with a Masters in Chemistry from the University of Bristol. She has spent time studying and working abroad in Spain and Mexico, and is fluent in Spanish. Lizzi is passionate about climate change and creating a sustainable future.
Matthew is a chartered Mechanical Engineer with close to two decades of experience in the hydro industry. He is currently a Senior Mechanical Engineer and Technical Specialist for rotating machines, pumps and turbines at United Utilities. Matthew has overseen from conception to generation over 230 hydro projects with in excess of 128MW of installed capacity. He served on the British Hydro Association council for a number of years and was also a member of Scottish Renewables Hydro Work Group.
Philippa has over fifteen years experience working in start up organisations, building their brand and raising their profile through various forms of marketing and PR channels. Her specialities include social media, content creation, digital comms strategy, client communications, event marketing, public relations, renewable technology and sustainability.
Marc-Antoine has worked at several leading aerospace companies in Quebec. With a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Concordia University, he is particularly interested in fluid mechanics and turbomachinery. Marc-Antoine is also passionate about sustainability and social justice.
Diana has over five years of hands-on experience with product development and implementation. She has a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of New Brunswick and has worked in a few different industries. Diana is working on the fluid formulation and mixing system for the High-Density Fluid at RheEnergise. She is very passionate about creating a sustainable future.
Dietrich is experienced in socially responsible investments and clean tech innovation launches. He co-founded DSi’s impact investment initiative, leading DSi’s financial analysis, tax structuring and investment decisions to adapt community energy to a post-FIT environment. In cleantech development, he has been the interface between product development and potential customers to accelerate commercialisation in advanced materials, wind energy, industrial energy efficiency, and transport.
Christian Porowski is a project engineer with nearly a decade of combined experience as a consultant in the design of sustainable and energy simulations, and as a lead mechanical engineer developing and building industrial vertical farms. He has obtained his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at McGill University, where he developed his passion for innovative sustainable technologies. His career has led him to contribute to projects in Switzerland, France, Australia and across Canada.
Alireza did his PhD at École de Technologie Supérieure in Automated Manufacturing Engineering. He has a few years hands-on experience of implementing control systems for a wide range of electromechanical and mechatronic systems. His areas of research interests are intelligent control systems, industrial electronics, power systems, neural network applications, and robotic control.
Alex is an award winning designer, illustrator, writer and web developer. He has worked for about 30 years in independent creative production which has led to 5 BAFTA and 3 RTS wins and nominations and multiple D&AD and Design Week awards in projects spanning TV, film, web, branding and illustration.
Alex was inspired to join RheEnergise in order to try to make a difference in the climate emergency.
Christopher has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Ottawa. He has over 8 years of experience spanning technology and process flowsheet development, hydrometallurgical battery recycling, and mass and energy balance modelling. He is passionate about the development and scaling of sustainable innovative engineering solutions.
Lauren obtained her BSc in Archaeological and Anthropological Science at the University of Bristol before spending three years in an operational, restaurant management role. She then moved abroad to work in Shanghai, China, broadening her managerial experience, and launching her continued study of Mandarin. Lauren has joined RheEnergise as a strong advocate in working towards a greener future and sustainable energy solutions.
Valerie has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and recently completed her Master’s in the same field at McGill University. During her graduate studies, she designed and built an experimental test facility for the characterization of heat transfer fluids used in thermal energy applications. Valerie has shared her work through various presentations at energy, fluid dynamics and heat transfer conferences as well as scientific publications.
Frieder is an Experimental Fluid Dynamicist with a PhD from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany). As a Postdoctoral Fellow at Queen's University, Frieder led multiple international research collaborations developing and applying new measurement techniques and flow-control approaches. The joint objective of his research has been to increase efficiency in the transportation and renewable energy sector.
Carol is a senior sales executive. A master at brokering deals and win-win relationships, Carol has had success bringing new technology to larger industries. She trains and develops sales teams using a unique methodology that maps out opportunities. She has 20 years in the Oil and Gas Industry and holds a MSc. in Geophysics.
Peter is a colloid scientist whose research focuses on understanding and ultimately controlling interactions between the diverse components in complex formulations – polymers, surfactants, particles – to introduce positive performance characteristics to those formulations.
After completing a MSc in Hydrography from the University of Plymouth, Adam has spent the previous 3 years working within the GIS sector. He has a particular interest in the manipulation, analysis and visualisation of extensive geospatial datasets, as well as the streamlining and implementation of data pipelines. He is passionate about combating climate change and reducing our impact on the environment.
Kirsty is an experienced project and team leader who has worked in renewable energy for the last 25 years. She has led many landmark solar energy projects in the UK including co-located solar and energy storage at The Wave (inland surf park), the solar car port and EV charging site at the Metrocentre shopping mall in Gateshead and Blackfriar's Bridge in London. She holds an Electronic Engineering degree and a masters in Renewable Energy Systems Technology.
Sheriza began her career in energy and sustainability for buildings. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Materials Engineering from Queen’s University, and a complementary Certificate in Business. Sheriza has also completed a 16-month professional internship in aerospace defense.
Kalad is an ACCA qualified accountant with 25 years PQE working in strategic planning / financial planning for over 20 years in Financial Services (Investment Banks, Asset Management, Private Equity), and more recently for a Bio Pharma company scale up business.
Ed has a bachelors degree in Agricultural Engineering from Harper-Adams University. He has over 7 years’ experience in the defence industry and 5 years with the construction and commissioning of large scale robotic dairy farms.
Bart is one of the latest recruits to join RheEnergise and is working as our Senior Test Engineer. His experience as a design and development engineer has meant that he has put prototypes through their paces with extensive building, modification, and commissioning of prototypes, as well as running tests and data gathering.
Nathan has a Diploma of Vocational Studies (D.E.P) in welding and fitting and an Attestation of Vocational Specialisation (A.V.S) in high pressure welding, with 5 years experience in structural welding. His previous role was in production of vertical farming systems, supervising all production efforts, including electronics and hydraulic assembles.
Giselle holds a dual degree in Chemical Engineering and Computing Technology from the University of Ottawa. She has previous experience in research, namely in the development of Li-ion battery materials and soil remediation. Giselle is passionate about innovative solutions for sustainability. At RheEnergise, she is working on fluid formulation and recovery.
Winston holds a Ph.D. in Experimental and Numerical Fluid Dynamics from the University of Waterloo, with an undergraduate background in Mechatronics. During his post-doctoral fellowship at Queens University, he conducted research into the application of surge-motion control techniques for enhancing the power density of floating offshore wind turbines.
Zaid holds a Master's degree in Thermal and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nantes as well as a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ETS Montreal where he focused on fluid mechanics. He has research and experimental work experience as he worked on a thermal energy storage project. He also worked for the hydro industry where he studied pressure pulsations in a Francis turbine for a pumped hydro storage project.
After graduating with a Master of Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique d'Orléans in France, Joris has dedicated the last six years to designing and developing clean-tech technologies. Previous work included the engineering of large scale heating networks to the development of technologies converting Municipal Waste to Energy and Waste Heat Recovery. He takes prides in using his skills to engineer solutions designed to tackle global environmental challenges.
Madeline holds an M.Chem degree from the University of Oxford. She completed her thesis in physical chemistry, using ultra-precise optical techniques to measure quantum effects in biological systems. She moved from academia to industry to become a formulation chemist working on super-black optical coatings for light suppression systems in space, and now is excited to bring her experience to the RheEnergise high density fluid formulation development.
Matt studied Aeronautical Engineering with a background in net zero solutions in Aviation. His previous experience includes nature and community based solutions to the climate crisis within the built environment. He is inspired by disruptive research and green innovation.
